“I visited Mont Gueliz in Marrakech a while ago, and it was a very enjoyable and refreshing experience overall. The place offers a great elevated viewpoint over the city, with a calm atmosphere that feels quite different from the busy streets below. It is a nice escape if you want a short break from the noise and activity of Marrakech while still staying close to the urban area. The walk up to the viewpoint is part of the experience itself. It is not very difficult, and along the way you can enjoy a mix of natural surroundings and city views gradually opening up. Once you reach the top, the panoramic view over Marrakech is definitely worth it, especially during sunset when the light becomes softer and the colors of the city look more beautiful and warm. The atmosphere at the top is generally peaceful. It is a good spot for photography, relaxing, or simply sitting and enjoying the view. You can clearly see different parts of Marrakech, which gives a better understanding of how the city is structured between modern areas and the historic medina. What I liked most was the simplicity of the experience. It is not a commercial attraction, so it feels more natural and authentic. It is the kind of place where you can slow down for a moment and appreciate the landscape. The reason I am giving 5 stars is because of the unique viewpoint, peaceful environment, and the beautiful perspective it offers over the city. It may not be a highly developed tourist site, but that is exactly what makes it special. Overall, Mont Gueliz is a hidden gem in Marrakech and a great spot to visit for anyone who enjoys views, nature, and quiet moments above the city.”
“I’d like to counterbalance all the negative reviews, because we really enjoyed our stay! We – I’m German, he’s Spanish – stayed at the hotel for three nights as a couple. We booked just two weeks beforehand. And for the price, you really can’t get anything better at such short notice: yes, the street is noisy, but I’ve never stayed in a hotel where the windows were better sound insulated, and I’m really sensitive to noise. There are even two windows one behind the other for better soundproofing. Just close both windows, pop in some earplugs if you’re sensitive like me, and you’ll sleep fine. Otherwise, the room was simple but absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. Even a large balcony! Yes, it’s true, a few things take some getting used to, for example, we didn’t have a shower door at first – it had apparently just been replaced and was then fitted after our first night. The cupboard where the fridge stood couldn’t be closed either because the fridge was a bit too big – but the fridge itself, of course, did close and worked perfectly. We also really liked the breakfast: there’s bread, fruit and yoghurt, as well as all sorts of hot drinks and juice on the buffet, and on top of that, every guest (!) is served a crêpe, a chocolate roll and an omelette etc. Breakfast is served from 8am to 10am, and when we asked once if we could have breakfast as early as 7.30am, that was possible too. I’ve read lots of reviews saying there weren’t enough towels. I don’t understand that. We each had our own towel as normal, plus a shower mat for our feet. When the shower gel provided by the hotel in small bottles ran out, the housekeeping service brought us a new one without us even asking. You could borrow a hairdryer from reception at any time. They also gave us some great tips on Marrakech in general. What’s more, the hotel has a really lovely rooftop with a pool. Unfortunately we weren’t lucky with the weather, otherwise we would certainly have made use of it, as the pool was really beautifully laid out! For this price, I cannot imagine a better hotel. Thank you for the lovely stay”
“Very bad service . No welcome no one to help with luggage either . I arrived and the weather was too hot no water at reception . No water in the rooms . No kettle to boil water and make milk for my baby. I struggled alot . So definitely this hotel is not for families with babies. No shower gel .towels colours are all faded. Seems old and dirty not properly washed . I asked them to provide kettle said there is microwave 💀at the reception use that 😳. Too noisy the whole night couldn't sleep. Only the location is good as nearer to airport and supermarket around and money exchange in the hotel itself. BREAKFAST SAME EVERY DAY😫😫😪 DOESN'T DESERVE 3 STARS Won't recommend this hotel. Just rubbish.”
“Went to get money exchanged here to which I got shouted in Arabic for asking for the conversion rate. We then went into the lobby to flag this to reception to which I saw the receptionist proceed to get shouted out by the same older gentleman. We walked away with the receptionist saying unfortunatley he is this way. Apparently he was shouting at us because we can find out the exchange rate with the paper we get when we hand our cash, rather than beforehand.”
“Its clean! But a bit noisy… Achmad the men from the desk is really nice and give good service. Thanks achmad ! Cleaners are really kind and even fold my clothes when i left my bed messy 😇❤️”
“ Write a review, make someone's trip Stories like yours are what helps travelers have better trips. Share your experience and help out a fellow traveler! Your reviews Hotel Mont Gueliz Marrakech, Morocco Do not recommend August 2024 The only good thing about this "hotel" is the location which is around 40mins walk from the main square with many good restaurants around. The biggest problem is staff, who doesn't speak any English or French. Their attitude also isn't great although this would not be a problem if everything would be fine. The housekeeping doesn't exist. Room has been sort of cleaned only once in a week. Had to ask for towels in reception. Food basically doesn't exist in the restaurant. No self service and no communication so you get a random thing served with no choice at all. We only tried it once and then didn't even bother going to the restaurant. We didn't expect much from this cheap hotel but it was even worse than we have thought. Kind of hostel experience. Pool at the top is a nice feature as there are no other attractions in the hotel itself. There are many better places in marrakech for similar price so we will never get back in there.”
