“A good pizzeria with a wide selection of pizzas, a solid wine list, 3–4 standard beers, and one Bulgarian craft beer. The pizzas are tasty, with an exceptionally thin and light crust that makes them enjoyable without feeling heavy. The only downside was that the edges were slightly burnt and tasted a bit bitter. Overall, however, the flavor and quality are very good. The desserts are also worth mentioning. The homemade tiramisu and the lemon cheesecake were both delicious and a perfect way to finish the meal. The interior is pleasant and creates an authentic Italian atmosphere, which adds to the overall experience. Unfortunately, the service was a major drawback. The order was taken by a waitress who wrote everything down on paper, and quite slowly at that. She had to come back twice to reconfirm what we had ordered, and in the end even tried to serve us a pizza we hadn’t ordered instead of one that we had. This resulted in additional waiting time. Considering that the menu is not particularly large, the restaurant only has 5–6 small tables, and it wasn’t busy, such mistakes are hard to justify. Eventually, other more organized members of the staff had to step in to properly handle our table. It’s also worth noting that payment is card only. Overall – very good food and atmosphere, but the service seriously needs improvement.”
“Great pizza place overall - food was excellent, service was good, the vibe was nice and quiet. I got the diavola and thought it was amazing. My only complaint is they serve the pizza on a piece of paper (probably to stop the grease) but it was a bit hard to cut the pizza because of it. They do slice it for you for those who don’t cut it at all haha”
“Probably top 5 best pizza places in Sofia! Words are not enough to describe, but let me try. The crust is absolutelly perfect, pizza's toppings are not much - just enough to give you an exlotion ot taste. Totally recomment, you can't go wrong with any of them. I expecially like the one on the picture!”
“Perfect place for a slow dinner with delicious food and fresh beverages. In the heart of a centre but hide from the city noise!! Highly recommended”
“Mercanti Pizzeria & So. – A Taste of Italy with Disappointing Service Mercanti Pizzeria & So. is a cozy little gem in the heart of Sofia that truly captures the spirit of Italy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making you feel as if you’ve been transported straight to a charming Italian trattoria. The highlight of the experience is undoubtedly the pizza. The dough is light, airy, and perfectly baked, with just the right balance of crispness and chewiness. The flavors are rich and authentic, making it one of the best pizzas in town. However, the service was beyond disappointing. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff was inattentive and unorganized. The waitress was distracted, unfriendly, and seemed completely disinterested in providing a good dining experience. • We waited a staggering 40 minutes for a simple salad, while pizzas were being served to other tables before their starters. • Drinks took forever to arrive, and we had to remind the staff multiple times. • Overall, the entire service felt chaotic and inefficient, which really took away from the enjoyment of the meal. It’s a shame that such amazing food is overshadowed by poor service. If they can improve the staff’s attentiveness and organization, this place could easily become one of the best Italian spots in Sofia. Until then, go for the pizza—but be prepared for a frustrating experience.”
“Delicious pizza in the heart of Sofia. Despite being super central, location is secluded. Service could be a bit sluggish.”
