“A truly beautiful and authentic restaurant with a charming Bulgarian interior that immediately immerses you in the country’s rich traditions. The décor is thoughtfully designed, with traditional details that create a warm, cozy, and inviting atmosphere. We ordered several meat dishes, and each one was incredibly flavorful, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care put into every dish. The service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and professional — and we especially appreciated that the staff spoke very good English, which made everything smooth and comfortable. The pleasant traditional music in the background completed the experience, adding even more charm and authenticity to the atmosphere. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that we would gladly repeat and highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy true Bulgarian cuisine in a lovely setting.”
“We visited for lunch and had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant has a warm traditional atmosphere, and the service was friendly from the moment we arrived. We were warmly welcomed and received some great recommendations from the staff. Following their suggestions, we tried the Burgaska Muskatova Grape brandy, the traditional Shopska salad, and the Koprivshtenska Sabia. Everything was excellent. The Shopska salad arrived first, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy it before the main dish was served. We finished our meal with a delicious honey cake. At lunchtime, it was quiet enough to walk in without a reservation, although given how popular the restaurant is, booking ahead might be a good idea in the evening. Overall, everything we tried was very good, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the service made us feel welcome throughout our visit. Both cash and card payments are accepted.”
“Authentic Bulgarian food in a rustic, peaceful atmosphere. The service was fast and friendly. The food was excellent, with a special shoutout to the typical Bulgarian red wine (Pelin wine). It’s honestly one of the best wines I’ve ever tasted! The dessert, a honey cake, was also delicious. The main course was great, and the meat was incredibly tender. Dinner was made even better by a live band playing traditional Bulgarian music. I only wish I had spent more days in Sofia, as I would have definitely come back. Reservation highly recommended! (We could only get a table by booking a day in advance).”
“I read about a restaurant and decided to make a reservation. The night before I read reviews and I really didn't understand what to expect... The restaurant is authentic Bulgarian, very special, service was fast and courteous, food was good, we ordered for 7 p.m., around 8:20 p.m. they started playing music and the atmosphere became even more pleasant and festive, prices are really reasonable for the level of the place, so we highly recommend it - it's a special and authentic place”
“Had a solid experience. Ordered the vine leaves which, to my surprise, were a cold appetizer. The menu said it was to be filled with minced meat, but there was rice as well. Tasty nonetheless. For main I ordered the meat mix, which was good as well. The restaurant has a unique, traditional atmosphere, of which I enjoyed of.”
“It was the first time for me being in Sofia city. I planned to try a Bulgarian food so I searched in Google map and I found a good evaluation for this restaurant. I came myself to try and I can confirm that it is a really good restaurant serving Bulgarian food. I tried an appetizer of eggplant and the main course of lamb and both were super delicious. The place is really relaxing, comfortable and reflects the Bulgarian traditional designs and customs. The staff is really cooperative, friendly and provide a very good service. Absolutely one of the best restaurants to be tried in Sofia city.”
