“I had a fantastic experience at Izbata Tavern in Sofia! The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was super cosy, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The place has such strong authentic Bulgarian vibes - exactly what we were looking for. We originally made a reservation for 2 people, but 2 friends joined us last minute. Even though the restaurant was fully booked and packed, the administrator was kind and flexible enough to accommodate us with a bigger table, which we really appreciated. Highly recommended. 10/10 experience!”

“The staff were very friendly, but I think the price is a bit too high.I ordered two slices of bread and a main course, which cost me 22 euros, It is probably appropriate in the Netherlands or Belgium, but I think it's too expensive for a city like Sofia. The taste of the food is a bit too salty, I don't know if this is a feature of traditional Bulgarian cuisine or something else, but I don't think it's worth the price.”

“I came to try this restaurant at lunchtime, and luckily we were able to get a table even without a reservation (there were two of us, and we arrived quite early). The place has a very distinctive traditional style that adds to the overall experience. The staff was kind and attentive. I tried two typical dishes — Tarator and homemade meatballs — and really enjoyed both. To finish, I had their homemade ice cream, which was also very good. Highly recommended!”

“More than anything I really liked the service here, from the host at the door to the waitresses all have been very attentive. The menu is not too big, but the food is not bad at all so I would say it is worth a visit. I would probably suggest you book a table for busier times as it was packed over the weekend.”
