“This used to be one of my favourite places in Sofia and it still is ok, however I noticed that the food quality has been deteriorating over the last 2 years. The food is still good but not what it used to be. During my last visit some items lacked salt while others were way too salty. Overall still good food but not great anymore. Service and atmosphere are 10/10 as always.”
“Dining at Fake French last evening with my friend was a revelation, far surpassing anything I had anticipated. The ambience captures a lively, quintessential bistrot spirit. I especially loved the intimate arrangement of tables for two; it creates a charming closeness that lets you sneak an admiring peek at the culinary masterpieces being delivered to your neighbours. The meal itself was a source of pure pleasure. I deeply appreciated the chef's masterful approach to intertwining complex flavours and contrasting textures. Every bite felt like a vibrant celebration for the palate. Our selection—the smooth mushroom pâté, a rich, comforting onion soup, the perfectly executed duck magret, and a decadent chocolate mousse—was flawless. Even the house wine poured by the glass complemented the dishes beautifully. The hospitality was equally remarkable. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and attentive, ensuring we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout the evening. Be prepared for remarkably generous portions, though! We were so satisfyingly full that a long evening stroll through Sofia was essential. A truly memorable spot that we cannot wait to revisit.
“The food is absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of the experience. However, the restaurant is extremely crowded and very loud. It feels packed with barely any space to move or relax, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. If you don’t mind a busy, high-energy atmosphere, it’s worth visiting for the food, but be prepared for the noise and the crowds.”
“Good atmosphere, the food is delicious and interesting. Have to try the desserts- they are amazing, so creme, so sweet, so fluffy, you want to eat again and again. And the waitress was extremely kind and polite, it was pleasure to talk with her, and not only with her, all staff are brilliant. Thank you all”
“We visited Fake French for brunch, and while the place has a great vibe, I wasn’t fully impressed with the pulled beef toast — it felt under-seasoned and a bit bland for my taste. However, the chicken pâté with bone marrow was absolutely exceptional. I’ve also been there for dinner before, and the food was outstanding, so the brunch just didn’t match the level I had experienced previously. The service is consistently excellent, but overall, brunch didn’t wow me as much as their dinner menu. It’s also on the pricier side.”
“Really impressive food. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can truly tell that great attention is given to both the quality of the ingredients and the detail in preparation. Overall, a wonderful place that I would happily visit again and highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a memorable atmosphere.”
