“We arrived for our reservation and were greeted by the owner with his head buried in his phone. First impressions are apparently a myth here. Before we had ordered anything, we were informed that the restaurant was booked back-to-back and that we had a two-hour window. Not the warmest of openings, yet not a flagrant one, so we condoned it. I ordered one of the most expensive mains on the menu - a beef steak with black truffle. Although it was well-prepared, it lacked flavour and wasn’t marinated. The potato rösti accompanying it was cold and clearly a leftover that wasn’t even reheated. By 8:20 PM, with 50 minutes left on the reservation, we had finished our mains and were ready for dessert. Whilst our waiter was seating a large group of foreigners, he became completely oblivious. My mother was flailing her arms to get his attention for over 20 minutes, only to receive the dessert menu, and no one returned to take our final order. We then waited from 8:45 until 21:08 before being noticed again, during which the waiter was casually checking his phone. Once he finally deigned to come check on us, we used this “golden” opportunity to get the bill and relegate this place to the ‘no-go’ list. Luckily, the restaurant is in the centre, where you can find much cheaper and more appealing desserts 🍨
